Havasupai Falls

We had a very fun and exciting summer this year. We started the summer out over Memorial Day weekend in Havasupai Falls, it is a Indian reservation down in the Grand Canyon. We went just Ty and I, Parker, Heidi, Trent, 5 months pregnant Megan, and Danny. We had a lot of fun. We started out by driving all night it took about 11 hours to get the parking lot of the trailhead. We got to the parking lot about 4 am and started the 10 mile hike! We hiked 10 miles with our 35-50 lb packs! It was so hard, but so worth it. Megan did so good and she hiked all the way in, but she just had a camelback, poor Trent carried all of his and Meg's stuff. You first come to an Indian village and you pay for the campsite, and then hike 2 more miles to the falls. We finally got to the falls and campground and it was so pretty, we were so excited and we set up our tents and took a nap for 5 hours! Most of the days were good weather, but a few days we had some rain. We made the most of it in our ponchos and tried to play games. One day we hiked down to these Moony and Beaver falls. It was so pretty, but part of the hike was so scary and steep! We ended up at the end of the week being so tired that we decided that we didn't want to hike back out. In the village they offer a chance to fly out in a helicopter, so we all decided that is what we wanted to do. We got back to the village and played basketball in the village with some Indian kids. It was so pretty to think we were playing basketball in the middle of the Grand Canyon. We finally got on the helicopter and it was such a cool ride. We drove back to St George and stayed over night and then went home the next day. We left Kennady with Ty's and my family, it was so hard and we missed her so much. But we also had a lot of fun together just us.
